Job Description

The primary role for the Data Analyst I is to develop analytical solutions to identify new opportunities, expand existing analytical methods, provide insights, and build practical solutions to complex business challenges. In this role, the Analyst will develop and maintain dashboards in Power BI, conduct trend analyses, and assist in validating key financial and operational datasets. Additionally, the Data Analyst will be tasked with utilizing descriptive analytical strategies to enable leaders to make data-driven insights. The Data Analyst will also collaborate with department leadership to develop tools that support product and profitability growth. Additional responsibilities include importing, validating, and managing datasets from external and internal sources to ensure accuracy and alignment with business needs. Job Duties And Responsibilities Data Analysis, Visualization & Management (40%)

  • Build, maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports to support operational decision-making.
  • Conduct data mining and advanced statistical analysis to provide actionable insights and identify trends to measure and optimize product performance for the business’ top product lines.
  • Leverage SQL queries for data extraction projects.
  • Manage carrier file imports and conduct frequent database audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Conduct root cause analyses to provide actionable insights into an account’s performance.
  • Communicate and clearly present findings/results to department leadership.
Report Management & Production (40%)
  • Design, distribute, and maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly product performance reports.
  • Support the automation of manual reporting processes by creating scalable reporting solutions using Power BI.
  • Support ad-hoc data and reporting needs for various operational initiatives.
  • Conduct monthly audit and reconciliations of external data.
  • Supports the department’s data extraction and collection needs.
Process Improvement (10%)
  • Proactively identify areas for operational efficiencies and collaborate with various business units to provide scalable solutions to increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other data leaders to streamline reporting and provide automated solutions to manually conducted reporting.
  • Partner with team members to standardize data collection, management, and visualization best practices.
Perform other duties as assigned (10%)
  • Serve as data analysis resource on as needed projects.
  • Support initiatives focused on enabling a self-service analytics environment.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA)
  • Associate’s degree in a related field required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics or computer science, or 6+ years equivalent experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of work-related experience required.
  • Proficiency in core Microsoft packages required (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required.
  • Foundational experience building and maintaining reports and dashboards in Power BI required (or other BI tools with willingness to learn Power BI quickly).
  • Experience with SQL or other SAS languages preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to translate data findings into meaningful business insights.
