Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for provider visits, performing EKGs, wound dressings, phlebotomy, and assisting during minor procedures. They manage clinical and administrative duties such as documenting patient information in electronic medical records, scheduling, processing referrals, and maintaining medical supplies. CMAs work under provider direction to ensure patient safety, support clinical efficiency, and participate in quality improvement initiatives in a clinical setting.
Job Title: -Certified Medical Assistant - CMAPrepares and administers medications according to policy and procedure after validation of knowledge and demonstration of competency. May not administer intravenous medications.
Completes patient tests and treatments per provider’s order according to policy and procedure after validation of knowledge and demonstration of competency.
