Rick DellaRatta and Jazz for Peace performed at the United Nations in New York on September 25, 2002. He led a band consisting of Israeli, Middle Eastern, European, Asian and American musicians in concert for an international audience in what is now considered "one of the most significant cultural events of our time!" This U.N. Concert has led to a benefit concert series that has gone on to raise funds, publicity and awareness for over 400 non-profit organizations as well as an Educational Program to bring jazz back into the schools and donate musical instruments to underprivileged children.

Over the past year Jazz for Peace has garnered support and praise from distinguished Americans such as Senator John McCain, Congressman Dennis Kucinich, activist Noam Chomsky, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and many more along with music lovers and humanitarians worldwide of all ages and nationalities.

Fundraising/Event Coordinator Position Details

Responsibilities

• Research addresses of potential donors and send out our Donation Letter to them. For example - Condoleeza Rice is a classical pianist who love music and would very likely make a tax deductible donation if we had an address to mail our letter to.

We recently received a donation from Senator John McCain this very same way simply by finding his address and sending him our donation letter!

We will of course pay for all of the postage as well as a 15% commission on all monies received (after postage fees are deducted).

The donation letter could also be sent by email. We would like someone who can organize an annual fundraiser or more to raise funds for The Jazz for Peace Benefit Concert Series, Educational Series and Musical Instrument Donation Program.

We will pay a 10% commission on any deposits received or a 15% commission of the total amount earned by Jazz for Peace after expenses - whichever is greater.

We would like someone who can research and write grants for Jazz for Peace. We will pay 15% of the gross for each grant received.

• We would like someone who can send out promotional material to Jazz "buyers" such as Festivals, Concert Promoters, Jazz Clubs, Booking Agents etc. to book Rick DellaRatta in his "for profit" performances.

We will pay a 15% commission. Ideally we would like one person for two or three positions but we would be happy to have a few people doing each position. We will of course pay for all associated costs as well as a 15% commission on all monies received (after associated costs are deducted).

We would like someone who can reply to the responses from interested organizations and work together with them to Event Coordinate our Jazz for Peace small ensemble and big band events!
