The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment such as front-end loaders, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other light- and heavy-operating equipment in support of the Facility’s overall operations. Potential for sign-on bonus up to a $5,000. Key Responsibilities include repairing and replacing damaged or worn parts to braking system, engines, fuel system, power train, electrical system and hydraulic system; testing mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications; overhauling and testing equipment to ensure operating efficiency; adjusting, maintaining, and repairing or replacing subassemblies such as transmissions, using hand tools, jacks, and cranes; repairing, rewiring, and troubleshooting electrical systems; diagnosing faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices; welding or soldering broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools. Qualifications include GED/HS Diploma or 5 years’ experience, current valid CDL Class A license is a plus, minimum of four years vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance experience, or two years of mechanical trade school training and two years’ experience as a vehicle and heavy equipment mechanic, ability to operate mobile equipment such as front-end loader and tractor/trailer for diagnostic purposes, and ability to demonstrate support for Reworld Values and Behaviors. Physical demands include ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, lift/carry 50lbs, work from heights and in confined spaces, qualify to wear a full-face respirator, and consistently work in various weather conditions. Shift work is Sun to Wed or Wed to Saturday day shift.
