🧵 Industrial Sewing Machine Operator

Location: Ammeraal Beltech – Franklin Park, IL

Shift: First Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Environment: Climate-controlled facility

🛠️ Position Overview

Ammeraal Beltech is seeking a skilled Industrial Sewing Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling medical pads and restraint straps using industrial sewing machines. Your work ensures the durability and reliability of products used in hospital environments. Precision, attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude are essential.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to join or reinforce materials
• Identify and prioritize purchase orders in the production queue
• Thread machines and adjust settings based on fabric type and project specs
• Position materials accurately using fabric markings or edges as guides
• Adjust machine controls (knobs, screws, dials) for optimal stitching performance
• Guide foam and fabric under the presser foot for topstitching and seam closure
• Utilize a topstitch machine (training provided) for boot pad finishing
• Inspect and repair stitching defects as directed
• Monitor machine operation and report malfunctions
• Maintain workstation cleanliness and perform routine machine maintenance (e.g., oiling bobbins, changing needles)
• Identify and report non-conforming materials

✅ Qualifications

• Basic English comprehension (oral and written)
• Basic math skills
• Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
• Ability to sit for extended periods (8+ hours/day)
• Adaptability to a fast-paced production environment
• Knowledge of industrial sewing machine operation
• Previous experience in industrial sewing preferred
• Ability to use measuring tools and read blueprints
• Understanding of purchase order prioritization

• Repetitive hand and wrist movements
• Moderate physical effort to feed materials under presser foot
• Extended periods of sitting
