Job Description
A sports organization in NYC is seeking an Intellectual Property Paralegal to join their legal team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in intellectual property law, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents. Experience supporting commercial licensing or working in sports/media/entertainment is a strong plus.
Salary: $70K – $80K base
Schedule: Hybrid in office, 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Responsibilities:
- Support legal team with drafting, reviewing, and tracking contracts and standard agreements
- Manage and organize legal files, department trackers, and master calendar of deadlines
- Coordinate document flow including signatures via DocuSign and follow-ups with stakeholders
- Handle trademark applications and deadlines with the USPTO
- Assist with enforcement efforts including gathering evidence of potential infringements
- Track licensing deliverables and insurance compliance
- Conduct research and provide legal administrative support
- Interface with internal teams to ensure timely communication and documentation
- Assist with continuous improvement of legal workflows and processes
- Support additional legal and operational projects as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in contracts management or as an IP paralegal
- Strong experience with trademarks, copyrights, and licensing agreements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); project management tools a plus
- Ability to manage a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and written/verbal communication
- Experience in sports, entertainment, or media is a plus
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a proactive mindset
