Job Description
A packaging manufacturing company in the Toledo, Ohio area is seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer with a background in the cosmetics or personal care industry. This full-time, in-office role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative packaging design while supporting brand growth, customer experience, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead packaging design and development for protective containers and components
- Analyze product specifications and drawings to determine optimal materials, handling, and safety requirements
- Collaborate with purchasing and production teams to assess cost-effectiveness and feasibility of designs
- Prepare and present packaging concepts, specifications, and samples for internal approval
- Provide direction on efficient packing methods, materials, sealing, and fastening solutions
- Create detailed packaging designs using CAD tools
- Utilize SolidWorks to develop precise technical packaging specifications
Qualifications:
- Experience in cosmetics, personal care, or related component/dispensing packaging is required
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Strong background in mechanical engineering and structural packaging design
- Excellent analytical, technical, and collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred
