About the Role

The Company is seeking an SVP, Chief Risk Officer & Deputy General Counsel to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the enterprise risk management framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring all material risks, including financial, operational, compliance, strategic, and reputational. This role requires a strong focus on regulatory compliance, particularly with NCUA and FFIEC guidelines, and the ability to promote a robust risk culture. The CRO will work closely with the senior leadership team to develop and implement risk management strategies and will be the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and audits. Additionally, the role involves providing legal counsel on a wide range of matters and managing a team of risk management professionals. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, a Juris Doctor degree, and be a member in good standing of a state bar. A minimum of 10 years' experience in risk management and legal counsel within the financial services industry is required, with a preference for those with a background in credit unions or similar institutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing and implementing effective risk management strategies, strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, and excellent communication and leadership skills. The role demands a strategic thinker with the ability to make sound decisions in a dynamic environment and a commitment to maintaining a risk-intelligent culture. The CRO will also be responsible for managing the ERM budget and ensuring the function is adequately resourced to support the company's goals.
