Software Development Engineer III

Introduction to team

Private Label Solutions (PLS) is the B2B arm of Expedia Group. We bring Expedia Group’s innovative technology and distribution solutions to partners across the world. These businesses include global financial institutions, corporate managed travel, offline travel agents, global travel suppliers (like major airlines) and many more.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will work in a small, agile team to design, develop and maintain our products in a continuously integrated environment. You will build automated regression tests, participate in peer code reviews, and provide estimates on work. You will be asked to promote good development practices, execute superb software design, and contribute to a healthy culture.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and implement highly scalable, and reliable applications and components

  • Participate in resolution of production issues

  • Work with teams across Expedia Group to incorporate their services into our product

  • Contribute to writing, refactoring, testing and perfecting code

  • Craft clean code using design patterns and object-oriented concepts, to ensure code is highly maintainable

  • Technologies we use: Java, Python, Kotlin, Javascript, React, AWS, GraphQL, REST, XML/ JSON, SQL, Spring, Docker, Datadog, Splunk

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • In lieu of degree, 4+ years of proven experience

  • 5+ years of experience developing solid code in an object-oriented language

  • Ability to work well with people and be highly self-motivated

  • Committed and passionate about delivering high-quality work

  • Problem solver and an excellent coder with a deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and data modeling

  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive

  • Ability to work well with people, be highly self-motivated and motivating to others

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment

  • Committed and passionate about delivering high-quality work

  • Familiar with creating API’s to be consumed by customers

  • Willing to actively seek feedback from team to improve software usability and quality

The total cash range for this position in Springfield is $115,500.00 to $162,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $185,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
