Structural Designer Responsibilities:

• Perform independent design of light structures including building steel, stairs/platforms, and equipment supports.
• Perform independent design of basic concrete structures/foundations including footers, trenches, floor slabs and walls.
• Conduct field/site trips and investigations associated with a project where you will obtain needed information and measurements.
• Produce Design and Detail Drawing packages as required.
• Checking of Construction drawing sets.
• Review and Approval of Shop Fabrication Detail drawings.

Structural Designer Requirements:

• Minimum of a Certificate of Drafting and Design is required to apply; Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited school preferred.
• 4+ years continuous employment experience in similar job role, including internship or cooperative program experience.
• Possess a working knowledge of structural steel materials and framing techniques.
• Possess a working knowledge of concrete construction methodology and reinforcement.
• Possess a working knowledge of current industrial construction methods.
• Proficient in the use of 2D AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft TEAMS.
• Ability to travel to client sites and perform physically demanding field activities to obtain needed information.
• Exhibits high attention level to details and accuracy.
• Good problem-solving abilities, ability to think outside-the-box.
• Good time management skills with the ability to multi-task without losing focus or precision.
• Strong oral and written English communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.

Pay rate $40 - $55hr based on experience
