Bruster’s Ice Cream – Assistant Manager - Pay Rate: $16 - $18 per hour

Bruster’s Real Ice Cream is a franchise organization that makes its ice cream in each store every day the old-fashioned way, with slow kettle processing in our modified Italian Gelato machines. A proprietary homestyle ice cream mix is delivered fresh from its dairy in Pennsylvania to each store. The product is temperature controlled so that it never becomes hard frozen. It’s a process that simply makes Bruster’s A Scoop Above The Rest!

 

Assistant Manager Position Summary:

Our large variety of premium flavors and artisan desserts are made right in the store where they are served, including crunchy waffle cones handmade in the store, customized sundaes, candy-filled blasts and thick milkshakes. Bruster's also offers several sizes of customized cakes and pies produced in the store for every occasion.

We are hiring an Assistant Manager to join our team and assist with the management of one of our newest stores in the entire Bruster’s chain. This position would work approximately 32-36 hours a week. Upon successful completion of training this position could possibly move from hourly to salaried with some benefits. We're looking for someone whose has the energy and motivation in helping to continue to grow our store through online orders, advanced register systems as well as eventual line busting.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure customer satisfaction

Ensure product quality

Provide leadership to the staff

Promote positive employee morale and monitor appropriate dress code

Train new staff

Write weekly employee schedule

Complete weekly product inventory and place weekly order of materials

Perform register functions and process credit card and cash transactions

Develop knowledge of building and equipment

Learn how to produce quality cakes and pies and perform basic decorating

Ensure proper cleaning procedures are being followed

Use social media (Facebook/Instagram) to help promote the store

 

REQUIREMENTS

Ability to get ServSafe Manager certification (plus if already received certification)

Must be able to attend ten(10) day Bruster's Training in Pittsburgh, PA (All Expenses Paid)

Strong customer service skills

Food service background preferred

Basic computer skills required

Strong oral and written communication skills

Basic math skills

Previous leadership experience an asset

Flexible schedule

Able to lift 50 lbs.

Reliable transportation

Ability to react quickly and execute skills with speed and accuracy.

Qualifications:

Education: High school or equivalent (Required)

Supervising Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)

All employees have temperatures taken upon reporting for work, after thoroughly washing their hands they use gloves and masks their entire shift. Pens, registers and peripherals are sanitized after each use. Customer social distancing encouraged
