Position overview: 

 

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services is seeking an experienced and qualified professional to manage the Fiscal and Audit Compliance Unit. The position will oversee all aspects of fiscal operations for the Bureau of Contracts, Fiscal Operations and Audit Compliance for the Division of Medical Programs. Additionally, this position will perform a variety of highly complex and advanced functions, frequently of a highly sensitive and confidential nature, to facilitate management of issues impacting Bureau operations.

 

The ideal candidate will have five years of experience overseeing high dollar contracts and two years of experience conducting or coordinating internal and/or external audits.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as Audits Compliance Unit Manager in Bureau of Contract Management in providing a review of internal and external audit compliance functions including the implementation and development of policies
  • Performs a variety of highly complex and advanced functions, frequently of a highly sensitive and confidential nature, to facilitate management of issues impacting Bureau operations
  • Serves as the coordinator for the Bureau’s strategic planning activities and initiatives to ensure appropriate progress and timely completion
  • Serves as working supervisor
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization

Specialized Skills

  • Requires three (3) years of experience working in fiscal administration for a public or business organization
  • Requires three (3) years of experience working with internal and external audits for a large organization providing or utilizing health benefits or health initiatives
  • Requires two (2) years of experience working with State fiscal law and its applicable process to contract administration
  • Requires two (2) years of experience working with fiscal development between public and private entities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience working in fiscal administration for a public or business organization
  • Three (3) years of experience working with internal and external audits for a large organization providing or utilizing health benefits or health initiatives
  • Two (2) years of experience working with State fiscal law and its applicable process to contract administration
  • Two (2) years of experience working with fiscal development between public and private entities
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with auditing, accounting, finance and operations
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in governmental accounting
  • Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in a public or private organization
  • Two (2) or more years of experience estimating and budgeting for future needs and cost of personnel, space, equipment, supplies and services
  • Two (2) of more years of experience utilizing computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite or relevant

  • Requires the ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
  • Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop
  • Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required /mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled or last-minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings and weekends
