The purpose of a VAN DRIVER is to transport guests and fellow associates to and or from the hotel and local areas in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner using safe driving practices. Essential duties include assisting passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle using proper tools, assisting guests with luggage delivery and pick up, maintaining shuttle activity and maintenance logs, communicating courteously with guests and staff, greeting guests, learning and remembering pick-up and destination points, knowledge of hotel(s), main attractions, local events, and property parking lot entrances and exits. The driver provides directions as needed, drives safely in all weather conditions, practices safety procedures including wearing seat belts and obeying traffic laws, reports needed repairs and unsafe conditions, maintains regular attendance and punctuality, observes work and break periods, maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming, and performs other duties as requested by the supervisor. Desired competencies include safety awareness, quality of work, productivity, customer service skills, initiative, and accountability. Education and experience requirements include a high school diploma or GED, or 3 to 6 months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination. Qualifications include ability to read and comprehend instructions, communicate effectively in English, perform basic computer and POS functions, maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, and be at least 21 years old. The work environment involves exposure to outdoor elements and moderate noise levels. Physical demands include standing and walking less than 2/3 of the time, sitting more than 2/3 of the time, lifting up to 60 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 120 pounds, and having good vision capabilities.
